Wireless network security

One of the prime concerns of any business model is to address the problems and give effective solutions to the problems of network security. Computers in any organization store tons of data. This data is often called the life blood of the organizations for the simple reason that this data is the thing which effects the smooth functioning of the work in the organization. Data is used for all management functions such as planning, controlling and decision making. In case proper data is available at the right time, it can create wonders for the organization and its growth. On the other hand, in case proper data is not available at the right time, it can also prove to be fatal for the organization. In either case it is the duty of the management of the organization, to ensure the proper data reaches all the levels in the organization and that proper data is made available as and when needed. It is also a great duty of the management to ensure the adequate protection is made available to the data of the organization by using effective wireless network security measures.

Network security effectiveness can be a tricky issue, especially if the network is a wireless network. These networks do not use wires. Instead, the communication among the various nodes in the network is effected through the means of a computer radio wave of a fixed spectrum frequency. Hence, it becomes easier to tap into and hack such network systems as one only needs to tap the different radio waves going across in the organizations radio wavelength to gain access to the network. Affecting a good wireless network security system hence requires a great deal of effort and commitment on the part of the management. It is after all the management who will be held responsible for any breaches in the safety measures affected on the data and hence the management has to make sure that the data protection is effective.

The different ways of affecting a good wireless network security measure are the same as those for the normal networks, with one major difference. The network security systems are largely software based in case of wireless network security unlike that in case of the wired networks where it is a mixture of both, software and hardware measures. This leads to additional problems in selecting an effective measure such as selecting the right software, testing and then accepting it.
